Industries
Pre-construction termite barriers timed to the programme, site welfare kept under control, and a clean handover with the certificate in the file.
The problem
Construction pest control is really two services that happen to share an address. The first is the termite barrier, which is a fixed point in the build programme: it goes in before the slab is poured, and once that window passes it costs several times as much to achieve retrospectively.
The second is site welfare, labour accommodation, canteens, waste, and the standing water that collects on any site during the wetter months and produces mosquitoes for everyone nearby.
The third thing, and the one that gets forgotten, is handover. A building handed over with an active rodent problem in the service voids becomes the developer's problem on day one, so a pre-handover inspection is worth more than it costs.
Sites are quoted on programme and area. The termite barrier is priced separately from the ongoing site service, because they are different jobs on different schedules.
| What is treated | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Site service, per visit | AED 1,500 – 4,000 |
| Pre-construction termite barrier | See the termite protection page |
| Labour accommodation block | AED 1,500 – 3,500 per visit |
| Pre-handover inspection | AED 1,200 – 3,000 |
| Full programme, duration of build | On survey |
Indicative prices, confirmed after the free inspection. The final figure depends on the size of the property and how established the problem is.
The inspection
When the slab is scheduled, which fixes the termite barrier window.
Excavations, tank bases and formwork after rain, mosquito breeding at scale.
Kitchens, ablutions and sleeping blocks, on a schedule of their own.
Site waste holding, which draws rodents to the boundary and then inside.
Stacked timber, pallets and board, which shelter rodents and scorpions.
The last chance to find a problem before it is sealed behind a wall.
For handover
Issued on completion, and required at most handovers.
Dated records across the build, for the developer and the main contractor.
Data sheets and municipality approvals held on file.
Evidence the building was clear when it changed hands.

FAQ
Before the slab is poured. Miss that window and only a post-construction barrier is possible, at several times the cost. Tell us the programme date and we will work back from it.
Yes, and it usually needs its own schedule, the pest pressure in an accommodation block has nothing in common with the site itself.
Standing water on site breeds mosquitoes for the whole neighbourhood and is a common source of complaints. Managing it is part of the site programme.
It costs a fraction of dealing with an active problem after handover, when it is the developer's liability and a snagging item. We think it is the cheapest thing on this page.
Tell us the programme, the site area, and whether accommodation is included. The termite barrier window is the thing to fix first.
