Local coverage

Mature gardens meeting open desert

Arabian Ranches is one of the clearest examples in Dubai of a community where almost every pest problem arrives from outside. The villas are large, the gardens are mature and well irrigated, and the community edges onto open desert.

That produces a specific and consistent list. Termites, because there is long-established soil contact and damp ground at foundations. Mosquitoes, because irrigation has been running for years. Scorpions on the outer plots. And ants, because mature planting means mature colonies.

The expensive problem here is termites. Damage is structural, slow to appear, and dramatically cheaper to prevent with a barrier than to repair afterwards. Any villa of this age in this location is worth a termite inspection whether or not there is evidence.

FAQ

Pest control in Arabian Ranches: common questions

Is termite risk really that high here?

It is the problem we would check for first on any Arabian Ranches villa. Mature soil contact, irrigated ground at the foundation and years of settlement are exactly the conditions termites want.

How do I know if I have them?

Mud tubes at the foundation or running up a wall, timber that sounds hollow, and damaged skirting. Plenty of cases show none of that until the damage is significant, which is why an inspection is worth it.

We back onto the desert. Scorpions?

Possibly. A night inspection under UV will tell you in an hour, and the answer is often that you have none.
